About me

I’m a down to earth, understanding, empathetic and compassionate therapist with a holistic and integrative approach to therapy. I walk with you in connecting your past experiences with todays’ concerns and support you on the journey to feeling confident in managing and talking about your emotions, as well as understanding why and who you are today.
I combine psychotherapy, Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other approaches to ease the process and guide you towards making the decisions that you feel are right for you.

I have worked as in integrative Counselling Psychotherapist in the UK for over 4 years and have significant experience in helping clients with a wide range of concerns such as trauma, abuse, relationships, depression, anxiety, fostering, parenting, motivation, self-esteem, confidence... the list really goes on!

I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared. With me, you can feel accepted and valued for who you are without fear of being judged. With mutual trust and openness, you will know that you have not just been listened to, but also heard. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage so well done, and I am proud of you for getting started!

What do I love about counselling:
Apart from the obvious response of being able to help others on their journey through life, I most enjoy the moment a client makes the connection between a past experience and current behaviour. Such a game changer.
That said, what I love the most about counselling is the Pandoras Box it opens. As a client you may come to talk about one particular issue, but once that box opens..!

Other Interests outside Counselling:
I enjoy creative arts so in my spare time you will find me either painting, or morphing into my sofa watching a film.
I am keen on supporting my community and sit on several boards including two schools, Rape Crisis, and a local community centre.
I was also a foster mother for around 10 years

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Gwennie Lewis. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Despite, this being my first time in therapy, I am really glad that Gwennie Lewis is my therapist as she always listens to my troubles, gives me feedback, and pieces of advice and supports me with things I am struggling with.

Gwennie is compassionate, professional, supportive and gives great advice. She gives both practical and emotional guidance. I don't know how I would have gotten through the past 5 months without her. She's kept me together, when my whole world fell apart. She has been my cheerleader, my shoulder to cry on, given me constructive feedback to work with to help with my situation. I admire her strength, energy, empathy and expertise. Thank you Gwennie for everything. I would have been lost without you.

Gwennie has been a fantastic addition to my healing journey. Her energy, understanding and insight has been exactly what I have needed. There have been areas of my life that no other therapist has ever touched on, let alone expanded on and dug deep to uncover the truth behind a lot of ongoing feelings and struggles. I highly recommend Gwennie to others and appreciate all that she has done for so far.

Gwennie has been such a huge help and I'm so pleased that she was assigned as my therapist. She's understanding, she listens and she helps to unravel things that you didn't know we're bothering you. I'm looking forward to continuing my journey with her

I started the therapy with Gwen during a very complicated time in my life and from the first moment she was able to give me a lot of comfort. She made sure to let me know it is important I will feel safe with whichever therapist I’m working with and I can always feel free to change therapist if I want but I didn’t, it feels like a perfect match. Gwen is patient, kind, professional and honest which is what I appreciate about her the most. I love the fact I feel comfortable to say whatever I want knowing I won’t be judged for it but also know that she will tell me the truth no matter what. I’ve been working with many different therapists is the pest and so glad to find one like Gwen. She’s golden!
