Dr. Maureen Christensen, LMFT
About me
If you want movement and change I am the therapist for you. I have had over 30 years of experience in counseling individuals, couples and families. I provide a safe, supportive environment to explore your personal and confidential issues. I will help you accomplish your goals and become the best version of yourself. I do this by empowering you to put aside fears and self-defeating thoughts and behaviors. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help refute negative thoughts, beliefs and attitudes. Turning these negative cognitions into positive thoughts and behaviors. I am direct, but loving and supportive. I give clients the tools to be their own therapist when our sessions have ended. My education includes a PhD in Health and Human Services, a Masters degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and a Bachelors degree in Nursing. I believe we have the capability to heal ourselves mentally, physically and emotionally by understanding ourselves and being brave enough to be who we want to be in the world.

I love Dr. Christensen! She is so wonderfully attentive, kind, and remembers basically everything I tell her. I don’t know how she keeps up with all my craziness. I’m very grateful to have her support in my life.

Dr Christensen has been with thru the good and bad of my emotions and even helped me to see the other side of what the person thought. sometimes it takes some digging for me to see what I need to see. Dr Christensen is great to be patient and help in digging for those revelations.
