Brian Nowak, LPCC
About me
I am a Professional Clinical Counselor licensed in the State of Ohio. I earned a Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Akron, Ohio. I have been practicing counseling for the past 30 years. I have the ability to establish a warm and caring relationship where you will be heard and understood. My counseling style is person-centered and solution-focused. Throughout the counseling process we will identify irrational beliefs, negative emotions and unhealthy behaviors. We will then establish goals to learn effective copings skills. I believe the goal of counseling is to live a happier and healthier life by learning and practicing effective coping techniques that last a lifetime. Every technique and exercise, such as cognitive-behavioral techniques (CBT), Dialectical Behavior (DBT) techniques, Mindfulness and Relaxation exercises; I practice on a regular basis.

Brian is such a great listener. It's as if he was right there with you when you experienced something or when decisions were made. I always feel understood. He offers insights for consideration that pull me out of a dark place so that I feel more empowered after talking to him. I really appreciate his help and support through very dark moments of my life.

I have so much appreciation and gratitude for Brian that it's really difficult to know where to begin. In the past, with other therapists, I've felt unsure or even frustrated by the lack of direction and progress. Brian has helped me to set goals for our sessions, is an active listener, and has given me resources and tools to utilize outside of our sessions. I also appreciate his knowledge and perspective. He and I approach problems/ideas in a very similar way and it's made a world of difference. I really just can't say enough good things about him.
